My Story . . . 

Originally from Tampa, I moved to Venice with my one-year-old daughter, filled with aspirations for a brighter future. I found refuge at Our Mother's House, where I spent two years completing my degree and saving for my own home. Venice quickly embraced me as its own, providing a sense of belonging. I began my career in Venice at a bank, where I developed essential customer service and sales skills. It was here that I crossed paths with a paralegal from a nearby attorney's office, leading to a new opportunity. As a legal assistant, I gained valuable insights into the workings of a small business and the unique challenges of operating within a small community. This experience not only enhanced my professional skills but also solidified my connection to Venice as the place where I could build a promising life for myself and my daughter.

Transitioning to the public sector marked a pivotal point in my career, where I flourished both personally and professionally over the next eleven years. My passion for helping others became the driving force of my work, leading me to utilize my artistic abilities in creating compelling marketing brochures, engaging social media posts, and other promotional materials. Eager to expand my skill set, I dived into website design, honed my public speaking abilities, and actively conducted community outreach initiatives. Additionally, I took on the challenge of learning mapping in GIS, a powerful map making program, further diversifying my expertise and reinforcing my commitment to serving the community effectively.
